theRevisitation is the simple and intricate exercise of looking back to look forward. Selected previous performance works are cut, pasted and merged with new ideas, thoughts, realities and perspectives, and crafted into a vehicle for Wilson to reflect on his past, his approach to his body and its idiomatic movement. It is a reexamination of the artist’s moving body and his provocative body of work and includes four pieces: INTRODUCTION, a solo performed by Wilson; the duet, a newly choreographed duet that recycles movement from Wilson’s past duet works; Big BRICK: a man’s piece, a quartet for four men; and a vocal suite.
This presentation of theRevisitation is made possible, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional support from contributors to the Dance Theater Workshop (DTW) Commissioning Fund at New York Live Arts.
